What a simple declaration is
A simple declaration ("declaração") is a personal, self-written statement, signed only by the person declaring it, affirming a fact for official purposes — proving residence, confirming a situation (e.g. no formal employment), authorizing something specific, or taking responsibility for someone else. Unlike a power of attorney (which grants powers to a third party) or a contract (which binds two parties), only the declarant signs here — its validity comes from what it states, not from any particular format.
"De próprio punho" — what it actually means
"De próprio punho" literally means handwritten by the person themselves — something no software tool produces, since the result is always a typed document. This tool never promised that: it assembles a typed PDF, ready to sign (drawing the signature on screen, printing and signing by hand, or signing digitally). Some institutions specifically require the handwritten document — in that case, this PDF does not replace it. Confirm with whoever will receive the document which format is accepted before submitting it.
Why clickable examples, not a single template
"Declaration" covers very different purposes — there's no single template that fits them all. Instead of a blank page or a rigid form, each example fills the declaration body with a real starting point, which you edit for your specific case before generating the PDF.
Where your data stays

Yes, as a personal declaration signed by whoever writes it — its validity comes from what it states and who signs it, not from the software used to assemble it. It is not a handwritten document (see the question below) and doesn't replace a document with a specific formal requirement (notarized signature, witnesses, registration with a notary) when the receiving institution asks for one.
Not if "de próprio punho" is required literally (handwritten). This tool generates a typed document — if the institution specifically asked for a document written by hand, this PDF may not be accepted. Confirm beforehand which format is accepted.

A deliberate decision: a simple declaration for things like school enrollment or proof of a situation rarely requires witnesses in practice, unlike a power of attorney.
